Your work shows your enthusiasm for the simulation, design and the engineering phase of Apple camera products and fuel our data-driven decisions. Your work includes: applied data science on high volume product performance data with innovations in predictions, correlations, analytics, and data visualizations. A foundation of your work will be rapid and effective visual analysis of complex datasets with presentation quality results shown to cross functional engineering teams and leaders. Product blocking issues that arise will benefit from your speed and skill in steering to resolution through robust analytics. Your work will continue to develop and deploy tools for ongoing analysis, discovering and detecting performance anomalies or artifacts in camera products. With your experience applying data into camera products, the data engineering platform and its analysis tools will define further required features and performance specifications providing direction for its development teams.

Qualifications

  • BS in physics, computer science, optics, image science, electrical engineering, data engineering, data science or related fields.
  • Experience in SWE, data engineering, or data science with a focus on hardware manufacturing and design
  • Experience in Python and/or Matlab

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in physics, computer science, optics, image science, electrical engineering, data engineering, data science or related fields and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience in data analysis, visualization and communicating results to cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability in ML for image science applications, including dimensionality reduction, and delivering valuable insights through accurate predictions and trend identification.
  • Specific experience in conducting RCA (root cause analysis) using statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and domain knowledge of hardware systems.
  • Experience developing and/or using large-scale deployed data pipelines leveraging cloud engineering tools (AWS, Snowflake)
  • Experience in applied computer vision methods
  • Experience in optical sensing concepts and understanding of related performance metrics

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
