Engineering Program Manager, AIML Annotation & Visualization

You will partner with engineering teams to deliver the technology that powers Apple’s ML feature development, all while contributing to a positive work culture. Apple’s annotation & visualization teams build the tools that allow machine learning engineers and researchers across Apple to create datasets that enable the amazing intelligent experiences on our current and future Apple devices. Your role will include the following responsibilities: - Build relationships and collaborate with partner organizations relevant for a project - Provide clear, timely and objective communication, including regular program status updates and critical issues as needed to executive team - Coordinate discussions and break down complex issues into discussion topics to drive engineering and design alignment with support from project team, maintaining an orientation toward teamwork and collaboration - Create and manage project timelines with clear dependencies, critical path and systematic methodology to communicate status. Manage risks and mitigations, and re- plan as events warrant. Drive alignment across the organization and between teams - Drive on time delivery and deployment, identifying development and feasibility needs, establishing achievements for checkpoints and status updates - Proactively identify issues and solutions, and marshal resources vital to attack and resolve. Coordinate with teams to identify issues, prioritize tasks and track risks to schedule and product quality, including cross-functional dependencies

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project or program management
  • Excellent project management skills including project structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently
  • Solid understanding of technical system architecture, systems design tradeoffs, and development and release pipelines for complex software
  • Self-motivated and dedicated with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project or program management
  • Excellent project management skills including project structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently
  • Experience in orchestrating the delivery of multiple significant software products requiring large organizations (100+) to execute
  • Solid knowledge of technical system architecture and systems design tradeoffs, and thorough understanding of testing, build and release processes for complex software
  • Ability to read/understand code including picking up new languages as needed
  • Self-motivated and dedicated with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence, and ability to independently draft and present deliverables, recommendations and communication strategies
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
