Description

As Apple Pay Software Developer in Test Engineers, we work closely with developers, data scientists, external partners, and other quality engineers to guarantee high quality products, as well as ensure existing features meet our customer’s expectations in each software release. To be successful in this role you should be experienced developer with strong Data Science fundamentals as well as programming fundamentals. This role involves collaboration with teams at Apple focused developing automated solutions to test for ML powered device features. Architect and develop scalable platforms to support the deployment and operation of Apple Pay ML services and applications. Own the design and implementation of distributed systems that are resilient and secure. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, ensuring efficient performance and reliability across multi-cloud environments - Design and execute experiments to evaluate and compare the performance of different ML models using appropriate metrics. - Analyze training and test data distributions to identify potential biases, anomalies, and areas for data augmentation or preprocessing. - Thoroughly investigate ML model results, identify failure modes, and propose iterative improvements to model architecture, training, or data.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge and experience on Test Automation planning, execution, and triage for projects on client to server.
  • Practical experience running machine learning models and evaluating them for quality and performance metrics.
  • Comfortable working in a continually changing and multifaceted environment and driving top issues to resolution
  • Self-sufficient with an ability to thrive in an environment of autonomy amidst ambiguity.
  • Proficient in one of more: Swift, Python, Scala, or Spark
  • Excellent data analytical skills, Experience in Data mining tooling
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools to ensure high availability.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understand CI/CD, Familiarity with cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS for scalable deployment.
  • Passion to building scalable software solutions for testing
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following technologies: Hadoop ecosystem, Kafka, Cassandra, SQL
  • iOS development experience (a passion for)

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
